Construction permits are required by law in order to ensure that structures are designed and constructed in accordance with the building codes, and all other applicable codes and local ordinances, to ensure the safety of the building and its inhabitants.  Construction drawings for land development, building, and fire safety components are reviewed and inspections are conducted to ensure that construction conforms to the approved building plans and all applicable code requirements.
